I want to find a cool desktop wallpaper (pref in 1440*900) of an urban scene at night with light trails caused by passing cars. Tried Google images with no luck - any other ideas? .

basicaly you set your camear up as normal. Making sure you capture the whoe shot and not focus on one thing (unless you want to focus on a car with the lights fading in the background)

then set you timer to the highest it will go. usually about 10-20 seconds

wach the camera on a tri-pod and click.

best result if your trying to focus on a subject is dusk. dark but not to dark

That's ace - yeah if you wouldn't mind sending it

I found this on my PC at work the other day - bit of a long shot, but i'd love a high res version of it if possible?

Butler - that one you've done, would it be possible to get a decent picture focussed on a car, but with that going on in the background?

Pretty sure you use a long shutter speed, but a small apeture, so only a small amount of light can enter the lens. The longer you leave the shutter open, the brighter the picture. In butlers example i'd imagine it being a tiny apeture, but quite a long shutter speed to be able to capture all the different cars, but without the street lights flooding the picture.

, yeah it's all lies and they're all pictures taken in quick shutter/ "Sport" mode, and they're of two convoys of CTR's passing the bridge at the exact same time .
