Is there anyway to clean up/paint a manifold?

Bored, and was going to clean up the GSI manifold before i get it fitted. Is there any sort of paint that will actually stand up to the heat of the manifold? Hammerite I suppose will die with it?

Dont have the cash to buy heat wrap either

You can get high temperature manifold paint - it's form over function though, personally I'd wait until i could afford wrapping.

A 140 mile round trip for halfords

How about a grinder with a wire brush attachment? I guess it would just rust?

Halfords isnt even worth a 14 mile round trip on its best day

I sanded my back box down on the MR2 as it was covered in rust.

Came up quite shinny, but a few days later surface rust is back. So i'm away to do it again, clean it then spray it black
