Before anyone says anything, i know it should be in the help section but i need an answer asap so i can get the astra back on the road.
Im having trouble uploading the pics of the bolt/bit that has snapped so ill try and describe it untill i can upload them.
wanted to check the gear oil and top up if needed the other day so got it up on the ramp and a friend tried undoing the bolt/bit that he thought was the plug to add gear oil etc.
He snapped the bolt/bit and we found out it wasnt actually the plug to add oil.
went to vauxhall to get a new one and they didnt even know what it was when i described it so need help.
I need the name of the bit for when i go back to vaux.
The bit/bolt was at the front of the gearbox (was 19mm head) and was spring loaded(had a spring behind it) and there is a pin inside where the spring and bolt were. Its something to do with the gear selector as its now slack(wont spring back).
hope someone can help me as vauxhall are hopeless.
cheers

no its not that, its something to do with the gear selector, the gearstick wont spring back into place anymore because this part is missing.
