i want to know how people fitting different seats is regulated?

surely its not safe or allowed for anybody to bodge up some brackets and fit some random seats that might fall to bits in a crash?

if the seat frames are made to a good standard then surely it would be as safe as normal seats

aye, but surely someone needs to check? because what happens if they are not, i dont think a normal MOT would check them properly i would think some form of engineers report?

As far as I know theres no legal requirement for them, MOT only states that they should be fixed down correctly, and not wobble around etc.

i miss the old days when insurance companies wouldnt insure a conversion without an engineers report. would get some of the shockingly bad ones off the road. saying that, theyre all on 1.2 log books.
