How much extra compression would the standard internals on a X14/X16 be able to take... In the form of boost (turbo)

if you are at all serious....fit lower compression pistons.
a turbo running at 4-6psi is just shite

As AK says, it would have to be a low boost application, which tbh isnt realli worth it in my eyes.

Low comp pistons can be had for about £500.

ive red on mig that the fitting of those kits isnt that great and you need to bodge stuff together etc etc to get it to work.
And tbh your gunna need a little more than pistons and a turbo to run 350bhp reliably

Fro - shh
I've been studying the Mvaux kit for ages wondering how they could sell you the kit without the forged pistons as this would make such a difference to the running of the kit as a whole!
What compression ratio pistons would you suggest?
and then what engine management would be needed to run it all?
Been looking into this for agess! Thank you everyone for your replies

and anyone that considers turboing a x16xe to get power must be mad.
I wouldnt do it, for less money you could build a super reliable 200 bhp n/a one. or just fit a c20let.

What's the major reasons why though Dave?

Its not just the power gain tho, which will be more than NA imo.
Its the huge torque gain.

It wont go pop if built properly!
Pointless trying to run boost on a standard 16xe, the cr is way too high as standard.

but then if you do it properly your looking at c20let costs, and you will get more horse power and torque from that

So...
Thats the case with anything.
Anyone who fits a mantzel etc to a 16xe could fit a 20xe engine for the same cost, and get more power.
Hmm, i cant even read what that graph says

The graph only starts at 4k and theres a huge lump of power
What ECU could be used for this? c20let costs but totally unique

Fully mappable one.
Omex/Dta etc etc.
