Hi,
I've got a 1.0 12v at the mo', I don't want to get a 2.0 because I don't like huge insurance bills. What's the best out of a 1.4 and 1.6? I'm not talking about jus speed are there any known issues with either of them?
Is it possible to transplant either of these into my car without the extensive mods needed for a 2.0? i.e. almost direct swap?
Any help or advice appreciated.

Not sure about the transplant but i would always go for the biggest engine i could afford as you will regret getting a smaller engine.

there are issues with the built in immobiliser on the later engines. The engine mounts and drive shafts are the same.

The money it would cost to source a 1.6 with gearbox, driveshafts, loom, and then the cost of it getting fitted properly, it is much more feasible to just buy a corsa Sport.
