Renton has decided to give up Junk and returns home with shopping. He gives in very easily and rings Mikey Forrester for a "Hit" to get over the pain until Valium takes effect.

On the way back to his flat, the constipation from his last Heroin hit wore off and he ran in to a bookies to have a crap.

He realises that the pills he bought from his friend were stashed up his ass and are now somewhere in the toilet.

- -This is the bit i don’t get -

He climbs into the toilet and swims around to find the two pills. This is obviously symbolic of something but i don’t know what.

Climbing into a toilet is obviously impossible, however when he returns home to his flat...he's soaked through.

Any ideas on this?

It’s baffled me for ages.

Probably wrong but isn't it to represent how far he was willing to go to get drugs & how warped his sense of reality is

I think its to symbolise how screwed up his head is and how desperate he is for a hit. The way I saw it anyway.

toilet could show his own little world he climbs into on comedown looking for more drugs

him being wet is showing you that he's living in both worlds cos he's such a fuck up

go me i got a B in media for A level

can mean loads of stuff tbh.

Like every film made from a book tbh. It is an ace film, but the book is epic. Much like The daVinci code and Hunt for Red October.

IMO it symolises him fishing around for the drugs and when he come home drenched that symbolises that drugs can make things seem like reality.
