It's been proven to be good enough for 190bhp, and I'm sure it would flow enough for a lot more. That doesn't mean you can bolt it on and gain 84bhp though

The spec is -

enlarged and reshaped ports
enlarged throats
3 angle valve seats
cut back valve guides

It has none of the following -

cams
lifters
springs
collets
it has some valves, and others can be supplied if I get the asking price.

So, it's a bare head, but it's ideal for pretty much any X16XE, no matter what your spec is.

On an engine with a mild spec, it showed an 8bhp gain over the same spec without.

One of the combustion chambers has been repaired after it was damaged, but it shouldn't make any difference to the performance of the head.

I will supply some pictures when I can get to the garage (when the rain stops)

These are the combustion chambers from gearbox end to cambelt, with the last one being the repaired one

The cam area has been trimmed to allow clearance for 288degree Newman cams, but others will fit also -




They're just a couple of the bits which have been done, the others were the same.

The head was chemically cleaned before I had it, it's just corroded slightly on the outside, but with a slight brush, it'll come up like new.

Price might put some people off Stavs, as you can get your own done by other people for this cash, but this is far better than most of the ones with just a quick buzz with a Dremel.

Hopefully it won't be here long, should fund the coilies for the Golf.
