1.6 sport, with inlet manifold, bmc cda, 421 manifold, decat, power boost valve!

looking to getting a set of cams for the car, then once cams are fitted will be getting it remapped.

what are the best cams to get?
what degree?

will just be using it on the road!

how much bhp will i be looking at once cams and remap are done?

or I could do you a Newman 288 with custom lift height that will go with standard pistons.

what about piper ultimate road cams, not reccomended with standard injection but with re map would be good.

they are 264 degrees, with 395 lift.

they say it works with power band 2000 - 7000 which is better than the newmans that only work to 5750.

they say they give 14bhp increase? is this good/true??

I bet you are.

My 1.6 was running 132BHP (measured on shitty rollers btw) with a similar spec to yours, apart from milder cams, no boost valve and no re-map.

Should make some good power with decent cams.

we use newman for alot of our cams now, very good company to dela with and decent costs

budget about £450+ for a remap.

get cams that are made from blanks and vernier pulleys, dont bother with reprofiled cams.
