Have recently switched to Virgin ADSL BB as BT are a bunch of useless fuckwits, anyway its been on for nearly a couple of weeks now and its getting a little quicker but everytime someone rings it cuts off. Is this likely to be a problem at their end or my end? Its also still a little slow but the phone thing is annoying me more.

I have a filter on the one that the Router is plugged into, does there need to be one on every socket?

Ahhh thats the problem then, so just a filter on every socket with a phoneline plugged in should solve the problem?

Only if you're in a cable area. If not they sell standard BT Wholesale ADSL...

As Tim said, we can't get the cable in our area so just went for the ADSL

It sounds like the filters but you may regret going with Virgin for your ADSL, they are pants as i've found out
