Your SXi wheels will be fine over the winter.
The only reason you need winter wheels is if you've got £1000 worth of split rims with polished dishes which will get ruined by the salt.
Painted wheels will not, don't waste your money.

i ran my old RH cups with a polished lip all winter and our roads get salted to hell up here,
just make sure you get a good few coats of wax on them and they will be fine through the winter.
as Robin says, the only wheels that really need taking off for winter are stuff like proper split rims with stainless lips and special bolts etc.

I use the wheels that I already have on it. The only thing the salt seems to have damaged is the centre caps but not too fussed about them as can replace them if needed.

I dont see why people bother, as long as you take care of the wheels and clean them every few days it doesnt matter. My mates got Momo Corse alloys, with chrome/polished lip, never had them off the car, just keeps the well cleaned.

I put three spokes on last year for a couple of months when the SXI's were newly painted.
This year I won't care as they have been battered a bit

my summer and winter wheels, done it because the white ones need way too much cleaning in winter, the others are refurbed in hi-power silver so still look good, they was a bargain to buy, refurb and put tyres on so i thought why not
