is there a known good way to stop these sumps leaking on xe's / lets as there always pissing oil all up my driveway/workshop.
ive tried using the 8v gasket but still leaked. my mate said use the right torque settings and all will be well but the bolts always seem to come loose. also i have to use 2 m8's for a z20let oil pump so will these have the same torque setting? was thinking a small amount of lock tight but will it ever come off

ive got an 8v gasket with this stuff called clear gasket in a yellow and black box.
when i put it on my 8v that used to leak all the time it didnt leak for about 4 months. and when it started again was only enough to give a greasy patch about 3 inches long on the back of the sump.
waiting to see how long it lasts on the xe

well its oil/water etc resistant...
so maybe tighten the sump up to hell, make sure its really clean on the outside, then apply the sealant as if your grouting if you get me. Could help as its resistant and wont be dislodged etc and has no change of going inside the block?
