Polyphony Digital has signed a deal with BBC Worldwide to let you watch Top Gear on your PS3.

You will be able to enjoy up to 40 episodes of the motoring show using the new Gran Turismo TV channel, which will launch on the PlayStation Network sometime next year and feature all the goings-on from the world of cars.

The BBC has also given the go-ahead for the famous test-track from the show to be replicated in Gran Turismo 5, so you can pop on some slightly bizarre music and thrash all sorts of expensive creations around the track just like the enigmatic Stig.

Cool. Would this just be old episodes of TG though or will they be aired live?

I don't know, just for the novelty of it.

It's a really good idea about the TG track though. Alot of British (and worldwide) TG fans will be more encouraged to play the game because of it.

I wonder if Top Gear will find a virtual Stig for PS3 track times? Although the Top Gear website says the full GT5 game isn't due til Christmas '08!
Also, when I turned the GT5;p demo on today I noticed it's been updated with new and unlocked cars and 4/10 of the GT:TV content.

soapbox is for geeks anyway, cool people buy ps3's, hence top gear, being a cool tv show, have done that deal. camper van crisis or restoring an mg would be about right for the soap box.
