For me the Uefa Cup is a big competition, not the Champions League obviously but a big competition none the less, and for example the back to back Uefa Cup success Sevilla had is impressive, only Real Madrid have ever done that I think.

Historically I'd say the UEFA Cup was a big Cup to win, but now, with the amount of teams that play in it, and the fact that Champions League teams get put in there after being dumped out, kind of brings the respect factor (for want of a better word) down a notch of two.

The champions league should be purley for CHAMPIONS of each league in Europe. That woukd mean the teams entering the uefa cup would be of 'higher standard' but when teams who are finishing fifth, six or even beaten fa cup finalists (milwall) can gain entry im not suprised its deemed as a 'lesser' competition
