not worth doin a redtop convertion. Wiring dont work, you can wire the engine no bother but none of the electrics inside that car work.

Cos the Corsa-C's have 2 ECU's if you like. one for the engine and one for the Electrics.

Better gettin a newer engine like the Z20LET.

Totally wrong mate, you can get everything in the car to work. You just need to know how to wire the engine in.
The transplant isent to hard to get in and mount.
Soon mounts shafts etc will be for sale so i am sure they will become common

Suppose and some point redtop into a Corsa B was hard.

I stand corrected.

You doing this on your birds Corsa C?

I've seen a couple that have been done. As far as i could work out they used an ECU on the engine and another ECU for the electrics.

I would never do it on your main car, maybe something you mess about with. Seen to many Corsa Bs with problems.

z20let

I should know I used to have one and Sara's still got hers
I know Z20 LET's go straight in but I can't stand turbo's. Naturally aspirated power is what I want back.

Andrew, no Sara still can't decide what she's doing with hers, she want a TT but at the same time doesn't want rid of her 1.8.
I'm building a true sleeper which will look exactly like a standard 1.0 comfort. I'm bored of the Rx-7 its just not my kinda car, I love 'b' roads, twists and turns etc, and it isn't made for it. Should have gone by weekend

Oh and on the engine front Ecotec bottom ends are stronger so i'm hopefully gonna use that as the base and use everything up top from an XE. Keeping it fairly standard. I'm only going to have it polished with cams, full Blueflame system and pannel filter. Brakes, not sure yet but i'm hoping Astra Sri brake will fit under 15" Steels. Chassis will be held together with strut braces front and rear (possibly a hidden cage), front and rear anti-roll bars, Koni Sport dampers and Eibach springs. Tyres, not heard any bad feedback on the Toyo R888's yet (road legal track tyres) so a pair of those will sit up front in a healthy 205/50/15 with a normal looking 195/55/15 set of Proxes at the rear.
