145lb ft at 5800rpm I think but the curve is quite flat from 2500-5500rpm. it's like a normal 2.0L engine below 5500rpm

Bit pathetic really - esp. for a modern 2L with VVT, esp. when Vaux's own little 1.6 can be coaxed to make 146ft/lb of torque and a much flatter torque curve without VVT

(OK - I admit, I've tickled up the engine a bit )

Thats because it is maybe? Bonus of having VTEC - good fuel consumption under 6k rpm. Mental jap madness over, good engine imo who gives a toss if it's 'flat' under 5rpm or whatever, its still way quicker than my 106 gti and the engine is about VTEC power anyway which most of you obviously can't seem to grasp

VTEC power: a way of losing substantial amounts of torque through most of the rev range.

yeah I can. VTEC means using revs to make power from normal torque levels

It had snatchy steering, an over-sensitive accelerator and it liked getting the back end out.

A bit of a handful, but a great car to drive like a cunt.
