Bioshock is amazing on it... COD4 and Crysis to come soon

Quad Q6600 OC'd to 3.00GHz
Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680 SLi
Corsair DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (4x1GB)
1 x 500GB WD HD
2 x 160GB Seagate HD
2x NVIDIA 8800 GTX 768MB in SLi
OCZ 1010W Next Generation Power Supply

Rather good set up I think

As I got it

Wiring needed looking at, it was an absolute mess.

So I took some time rewiring it and playing about and was left with:

I'm waiting on a Corsair Memory Cooler and I may play about with the front, make the CD drive a slim line one at the bottom and have 3 x 120mm fans running up the entire front.

Sorry about the pics, they're a bit dodgy as I took them on a new camera, just got the Nikon D70s and new lenses, still playing about

Should do, had an Alienware before which was a lot but did me for about 4 years. There is new technology coming out and I know that but I thought fuck it, can't be doing with sitting around for ages waiting for prices to drop and new stuff to come out as you're fighting a losing battle.

Will do me for my last 3 years of uni then I can upgrade again

Have some bits for sale from my last PC as well some people may be interested in... may post them up in the for sale section.

Run the power cables up the other side of the optical drive/HDD part, should hide it wway a little more when side is off, or behind the mobo tray if its got a removable one.

Looks good though, you know what I said about the spec when you u2u'd but you had already ordered it, but if your keeping it for a while then the two cards may well work out a good option when games finally take advantage of them!

Was intending to do that but couldn't be arsed so ran them up this side, ideally one day i'll take it apart, cut the back metal case up to feed through the cables directly down to the PSU and so on, really tidy it up but for now and getting them out of the way of the fans it's done the job perfectly.

The two cards at the moment are both pretty high spec anyway on the market, most games would run perfectly with one let alone two but yes I appreciate it's still new technology they need to sort out properly and when they do, it should be good.

Also went for Vista 64 bit, mainly for CAD reasoning - so far.... it's been fine. But i shall wait and see!

Without meaning to sound like a dick, I priced it up and it wasn't much less. Also buying it as a built PC means if I have a problem I can just go straight back to them for a fix, If i bought bits left right and centre I'd be in trouble when it comes down to whats to blame for the problem, who fixes it or exchanges bits .etc I know theres manufacturers warranties but this way was much easier for only a little bit more.

Also I lacked the knowledge of building it, only once I got it and took my old one apart, played around did I learn. Next time I may build it myself but I have the money to spend so it's not an issue.

_Allan_ been looking for those adhesive base ones for a while now, cheers!

Specced up without buying it ready built it costs £1762 but that is using one site only not shopping around all over. Hardly that much of a saving and thats not including the Office 2007 which RRPs for about 350-450

the warranty and support is the big thing IMO for not building it yourself, and with the money off most PC builders get the parts for it tends not to come out much more expensive than building it yourself.
