Sorry 2 hear about that mate, you were lucky not to have had a crash tbh! my mate had a similar problem:

He had just had his car serviced and the mech didn't put the wheel back on properly

happened to my mates corsa too, but his locked a rear wheel as it got that hot from having a shot bearing, then when he pulled up to check the locked wheel, it fell off as the stub axle snapped.

note to all, always cheack your rear wheel bearings regularly if you have a corsa b, this is the 4th incident i have heard about the same problem

This happend go Lee Mitchell once when we were heading up to santa pod!

Lee fixed the rear wheel bearing with set of pliers a screw driver and my hammer I had laying in the car....then went on to Santa Pod

That happend well close to my house you could of run accross the field for a cuppa if you really wanted?

Yeah it was mate, it was from about 4:30pm to 7pm, recovery were badgers

I'll bear that in mind if I ever break down there again, although if I do hopefully I'll have all 4 wheels attached

Stub Axle with half a bearing (The top around the nut wasn't that damaged, that was just trying to get it off)



You might not be able to see it, but there's lots of metal flakes in there



And there's the other half of the bearing, can't get it out, think it's melted itself to the inside

That's the thing, the previous night I was coming back from work with my mate in the car, we were hitting 110 at some points, I'm lucky in alot of perspectives. It doesn't feel it though

When that happened to me the wheel didnt fall off, its just stopped turning making the car spin lol

New stub axle, new drum and new bearing then

Thats £150 odd then

No way

Had spare bearing and stub axle in garage so fitted that an hour after getting it home
