well my car seems to be using quite a bit of oil lately, i havent past my test yet so im barely in the car but last time i topped up the oil it mustve done about 100-200 miles and my oil lighta coming on again.
was like that the last time when i had to top her up
its a 1.4 8v sri
anything i should be checking

Check blue smoke out the exhaust.
Check for any leaks anywhere.

Have you actually checked the level, or are you just putting in oil?
It could be a faulty oil pressure sensor.

exhaust is fine and cant see any leaks anywhere in the driveway, yes i am checking the oil with the dipstick and it does need oil

Its gotta be going somewhere whther its burning it or leaking it, thats strange. You'd probably only see it coming out of exhaust if you are giving it stick.

im having something of the same problem, had car just under 2months now and its been using more than normal, 1.4 16v sport
no leaks or that either.
im puzzled

Could be oil getting past the piston, can be a common fault on the early sport engines, lets hope im wrong (full rebuild if not)
