thouhgt this would be nifty for track days. You can set it to flash in your peak torque range, or just before redline to change or whatever.

I would have thought that after a while in the car you'd get to know exactly when to shift anyway. Bit of a gimmick TBH. And its £90!

hmmm true.

i think its main purpose is to help you keep your eyes on the track/road.

i might still invest just for the fun.

programme it for the peak torque/power ratio in my revs and see if it improves driving, then i might write a review.

been reading the manual, and digitally without revving, using an AF graph, you can programme it to single revs according to your dyno results to start at the bottom of the power curve, and flash to change just as it peters out......

Totally agree. My car has a shift light/beep that I don't use. You just know when to change gear anyway.

iv got one as standard on my 172, waste of time. At first i though it was a gearbox warning light and was shitting myself

Drive a car hard for 15 mins and you know when to change gear

I can't see why you would need this? I personally don't need to look at my rev counter to know when to change gear... I can hear the engine note, and know by the way the car's feeling that it's time to throw it into the next gear.

The std one in the Focus RS is pretty cool but as has been said, u generally know anyways :S

they are usefull.... i've found myself pushing into 8k rpm+ along straights without really meaning wanting too... If there had been a flash from a wee LED at 7.5k rpm id have up shifted.... but when you rifling along at about 120 in 3rd airborne over bumps, getting past a car before a lining up for a corner there are a few things going on in the old soup pot upstairs

Use a capacitor of some decription with an LED on the "pea green wire". Its only dont on voltage, idle is 7v, 2krmp is 8v etc.

had an omex on my old one as it had no rev limiter and was really good to have the lights to know when you were really high and i trusted that more than the small aftermarket rev counter!
