What are the main differences between them? obviously one is 8v and the other 16v..

VTS has a rear disc beam, not sure if VTR does? There is about 20 brake in it but its definately worth it. If you can insure a VTS I wouldnt bother with a VTR personally.

hmm quick look on parkers seems to show vts came with alot of the vtr optional extras as standard...

imo vtr's are shit, i really wasnt impressed when i drove my mates vtr, gearbox felt like it was goni break when changing gears.

although when i drove my other mates vtr (converted to vts engine and box) i was well impressed, could fairly shift

Hi Kurt,

Like said the main diffrence is the 16v and the extra 20bhp, VTS also has oil temp gauge, 15 inch alloys and diffrent interior too.

Defo have the VTS everytime

my brother used to have a vtr in that metallic red they do and it looked really good and felt like it shifted a fair bit, then again when your like 10 anything does lol

If i wasnt so tall i would probably still have my VTS, but wanted something just as quick and comfortable which is why i got a rallye.

no he bought it new, im 20 its 2007, vtr came out in 1997....



anyway.. its £300 more to insure a vts than a vtr

I would , i did 12k of hard miles in my VTs, didnt put a foot wrong once, all it had was a track rod end.

Go all out and get a gti-6, lift off oversteer is really controlable due to longer wheel base, is great fun even in the wet it feels controlable .

I did 20k in mine in 9 months, It was ok at first but then the wheel bearing collapsed, then the front passenger side strut came loose, the fuel pump packed in, then the strut came loose again, then the coil pack went and then it started knocking from the bottom end, so it was swiftly part ex`d

they arnt as bad as every one says to drive

Cant really comment on a VTS though, I expect they are a totally different beast

i think and im not being biased, but i reckon VTS's are much strongerif looked after, 3 of my mates have VTS's all never had any problems except one coilpack, my mate bought one at the same time as me and is still perfect and gets ragged every second like mine used too, and it was the first car i actualyl felt safe giving shit for 20 - 30 mins and not worrying about it breaking.

I have to admit mine had a pretty hard life while I had it, BUT I serviced it every 4-5 thousand miles

Id go for a VTS for the extra £300

Its a more modern engine is it not??
