true but mark plugged it into the diagnostics and the car wouldnt talk to it so we just took it from there

yeh but that just means the plug may not be wired up.but you should still be able to do a fault code test.

well its through its mot so i have a little longer to work out what's what.


as for what up with it i dont have a clue.

getting anew mid section as mines blowing like hell so it could sort out some running probs and help the lamba along, im going to get my cams tuned in properly too and then send it off to a rolling road for a diagnostics.

a mate of mine does mots used a bypass in theemissions to help

back to square one though - car wont run when cold.

havnt even thought further than electrics matey.

i hope its not compression as Dave and co only just built it, i doubt it would be compression.... runs ok when warm.

i doubt it too but if it's not electrics you need to start looking elswhere.did you say you have tried another ecu?

no i want to but my mate who has a valver is having his engine rebuilt now lol.

I think im decided on trying a new loom. Cant be my ecu as my car was perfeck before the build, only needed the starter motor replacing and there were no emissions issues/no bogging down at all etc etc.

if when the loom is replaced and it doesnt change, i'll just take it back to dave to look at as it must be something thats been done while putting the engine back in.

have you got a compression tester?do a test.was the hc's very high on the emissions test?.if its was your loom it would most likely show up on the fault code test.

so unburnt fuel from too rich.too lean a mixture
