matthew what
Egg only ever owned 5% of us, BG owned 95%, micheal tabour has been linked with buying us over the last 15 years, and has never even bid
BG has take over, IMO because (posted on west ham forum)
West Ham get taken over & look in trouble of relegation.
Someone will get the blame, so the 95% shareholder stays in the background while the 5% shareholder prepares to take the flak.
Miracles happen, West Ham stay up. The patsy (not King Arthur's horse) gets the credit, not the blame.
The Sheffield Utd/Tevez affair also goes in West Ham's favour, with Eggy taking some stick but still appearing relatively intact.
West Ham reach the winter period in mid-table obscurity.
Job done (West Ham having had a respected UEFA person in charge through all the trials and tribulations)), Eggy takes his pay-off.
BG (who would've been slaughtered in the press for the Tevez situation, given his history) takes the helm without any of the tarnish of the previous season's problems on him.

TBH reading the quotes on SSN it seems a fairly positive and sensible move to make, he was only a minority shareholder at the end of the day.

indeed, because it was the public face many people think he owned the club, where infact he only owned 5%, i firmly belive because of BG issues, he used his mate (with egg knowing) whilst the transition periode of the club happned, now we are settled in the Prem, BG can give egg a payoff and start again with his plan

I couldn't believe that, the media made out he was some rediculously wealthy businessman but then we find out hes just a shareholder

You'd think he would have had long term plans for WH then. I was expecting him to emulate what Abramovich did at Chelski.
