Corsa '96, 1.2 8 valve Vegas
The door lock in my corsa, drivers side, has got looser and harder to unlock. Its like theres no "spring" when turning the key. My corsa has deadlocks.
Was just wondering what part it may be thats boken.
Cheers

The engine might be broken I'm afraid.
Sorry...... couldnt resist
Its going to be the door lock barrell. You will end up having two keys more than likely.
Give Autovaux a ring for a price.

It will yeah.... you dont want to wait for that to happen I can tell ya!
If you have deadlocks... do you have central locking?

Duhhh. dumb question from me... of course it will have central locking!
If you stayed in teh car and got someone to lock you in without deadlocking, can you just pull the pin up and the car unlocks ok?

It will more than likely be the deadlock ring that is broken, they are prone to snapping.

In my first corsa i was able to decide wether to use deadlocks or not, but in this one everytime you lock it the deadlocks are on.
I havent tried to see if the deadlocks still work or not though.

I say this too. My drivers side lock was very flimsy, and I wouldn't say hard to use though.
Can you put the key hole in the horizontal position, as if deadlocked, but it isn't deadlocked?
If so, you'll need these parts from Vauxhall:
90540614
9120412

I didnt mean hard to use as in you need to apply a lot of pressure, just that its fiddily.
The key does turn to the horizontal position, and locks the door, but i need to check if the deadlocks are working. If it locks and the deadlocks dont work, i take it those are the part numbers i need in this case?

Yeah, I think the first is the actual deadlock ring, the 2nd is a small barrel, that is probably rolling around the bottom of your door or something.
You'll need both. I never bothered fitting myself, as it looks very fiddly when you get the parts. They'll cost about £10 from Vaux in total, may be less.
