Surely they have the technology to chip the ball somehow so it can sense if it has crossed the line. It wouldn't effect the game hardly but would rule out very costly mistakes. Thoughts?

I agree with what you are saying but think you could have still have that in other areas, It just seems a bit primative with all the money involved in the game these days.
