I fitted the new Fiat Coupe disc and Vectra V6 calliper to my passenger side today - both went on without problems, but now the wheel doesn't fit
It doesn't clear the calliper, needs about a 4mm spacer Any ideas why?

trouble trying to fit v6 brakes under really. mate of mine has cav gsi wheels over a set but they needed a 3mm spacer and a skim off the caliper.

The disc sits perfectly central on the hub now after a mate and I made up a spigot ring for it a couple of weeks ago, and it fits perfectly in the calliper.
I think with a 3mm spacer it will just clear, but I'm not sure, it may need a 5mm.
I will just get a lift to Halfords in the morning, and hope they have some!

Yea its the same with mine, but I don't have a grinder
I just tried 5mm spacers and they still don't clear the calliper
Any other ideas?

Phil, what discs and callipers are you using? As my SXI wheels are even worse, they need about a 10mm spacer I guess, the curvature of the inside of the rim is even worse.

Im running the turbo calipers actually but they are the same as V6 (there are early an late type of V6 an turbo and both are the same in respect to that) and fiat discs.
They are close, dont get me wrong but they have never caught. To be honest though I have never had much to do with the later type calipers, but cant see them being that much different.

I assume I have late Vectra callipers, although I can't make out the part number on them, the part number on the DS2500 pads matches those needed by a 98-02 Vectra 2.5 V6 or something.
Have you spaced the calliper away from the hub at all, using washers? I remember reading something about that before I bought them

Any other ideas then? I know that they are sliding calliprs, and if theouter pad was worn by a couple of mm the wheel would fit as the calliper would move back out of the way
Cheers for the help mate

you might have the wrong pads causing the caliper to bend slightly on the runners. if not you'll have to get someone to grind the edge slightly.
