i got a corsa b with a c20let in it, i want a full new exhaust system making up for it, i went to a garage 10mins away from me ad they qouted me £325 with a new booster centre box ect... but my down pipe is 2 1/2" which as far as im aware isnt that standard calibra size? so i asked for 2 1/2" bore size system, the bloke told me that i could have 2 1/4" or 3" bcos 2 1/2" would restrict the power and i would'nt get full performance owt of it so whats true and whats not, but alad that works at that very garage has a 1.3 civic with a 3" and its all noise, any suggestion or is is this right what he's saying?

Custom made probably
I had a custom one on my corsa turbo
If they say they wont make it ask someone else, as its custom, they should make what you want
and no, not stalking, just answering peoples questions cos im bored

no he said i could have 2 1/2" but that he advises not to bcos it would restric it so he suggested a 2 1/4 or 3" which i dont mind i just wanted to know which would be the best for my engine

How can 2 1/4 be less restrictive than 2 1/2"?
Whats the engine spec?
3" is a bit big for a standardish Let.

i honoestly dont know which this is my argument that my standard down pipe is 2 1/2" which i think thats a standard size as far as im aware, but my point was that i wanted a 2 1/2" bcos thats thats what my down pipe is, and i said i didnt want a 3" bcos that would just be stupid, so im getting a mate to make one up for me but i think im going to stick to the 2 1/2" or 2 1/4" they didnt stock the 2 1/2" so i think in my opinion they just didnt want to order the pipe in, but the lads that work there have all got 3" systems on like 1.3 which is ridiculous, enginest standard just got bigger intercooler and bits and bobs boosts turned up slightly from standard thas it mate.

I have built and dyno tested a LOT of c20let corsa systems, 2.5" is the best option. the downpipe as standard is 2.5"
any bigger or smaller is bad for performance as testing has proven, infact even a 380 bhp LET is fine with a 2.5" bore.
