I've had my corsa a few months now and the alarm hasn't worked. I see the red blinking light and notice the siren under the bonnet, but not once has it ever gone off no matter how hard i try to make it, so i just thought it was buggered.
Went out to the car yesterday morning and the battery was dead, went round my dads got some jump leads and borrowed his car. I was about to attach the leads to my battery and noticed it was leaking acid everywhere
I used common sense and decided this wasnt a good thing so i bought a new battery. Put the new battery in, started her up and left it as that.
I went to get in my car last night and boosh! alarm goes off and i cack my pants i well wasn't expecting it. Now every time i unlock my car and open the door the alarm goes off is there any way of stopping it from doing this?
I know if i dont turn the key to the deadlock position the alarm wont arm, but now i know the alarm works, i kinda want it to work properly.
I done a quick search on this but didnt find anything.
I'd appreciate any help.
Cheers
Leigh.

Do you have a keyfob?
Maybe your mechanism is shagged and isnt disarming the module

Do your indicators flash when you dead lock the car?
If they do, do they flash when you unlock the car also?

I got a factory alarm on mine and i aint got the fob but doesn't fail to go off in situations like if it's locked and im jet washing it, do it long enough and it'll be triggered.
"Should" the factory alarm have a fob?
As i can shake it long and hard enough to make it go off to, that's how i tested it when 1st bought it anyway...

I have no idea if it should have a fob, all i know is if i arm the alarm i cant disarm it without setting it off.
