right..... i get a wire and connet to the ignition feed where you get the power to the ecu and put it on an earth n connect a bulb on the other end and it comes on..i run it round to under the bonnet and connect to wher it goes 2 and still no ecu light?? could a wire have rubbed through or somthing on the loom??? plzzzz help!!

So does your testing bulb come on when you measure for voltage at the black wire near the coil?

check to see if there is any voltage on the black wire where it comes out of the corsa loom in the footwell, does it come on then? a voltmeter is ideal really. Maybe its the revenge of all the corsas you have been splitting?

Right then if theres power in the footwell but not at the other end then the wire has probably broken in the middle.

If you cut the black wire going into the LET loom near the coil and put a wiree on it to battery + then your EM light should come on and power everything up (oil and battery lights wont come on though)

Then turn your ignition as normal and it should start. to stop the engine take the wire away from the battery+ as it will carry on running with the key out

Hope that made sense

The black ignition wire starts out from the corsa loom in the footwell, you get voltage there?

Then the wire is extended to the black wire near the coil, do you have voltage there?

From the coil the wire goes into the XE loom and back to the ECU so if you get voltage in the above 2 places then you need to find the pin on the ECU.

If you arent getting voltage on either of the above points then its not an earth problem

hope that helps
