As me and gf are now moving into our own place, we want a tv, whats the opinions on this sony bravia, seems a bargain for size etc..

prios' cheap for the size and good contrast ratio
cons - bordering on needing 1080p at that size instead of just 1080i imo

Sony don't do 1080p in 37".
That is a very very good tv imo.
My gran has one and the colours are amazing, get it then watch CSI on a tuesday and you'll see what I mean.

This shows that people still don't know the difference.
This tv isn't 1080i either, it just accepts a 1080i signal and deinterlaces and reduces size to 720p.
To display 1080i it needs the same amount of pixels as to display 1080p.
