this is gonna be majorly pic heavy!!
i bought a standard 1.8t se passat as a corsa replacement! heres the ongoing project and new things i have got it!
as standard
lighting on veedubs is mazin!
first mod was a debadged grille!
then i got a turbosmart dv...no pics sorry!!
next was a 6 cd autochanger for the stock stereo!
next i picked up a majorly cheap backbox so on it went!
And heres a vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvfaG8x9k1Q
Drove to Finsbury Park and picked up my new merc rims! 8.5" front and 10" rears....think they are gonna look amazing when refurbed with some stretched tyres...only paid £205 which is a steal as these sizes are VERY hard to find!!
woulda fitted but cant find my locking wheel nut....eekk haha will steal my dads 2moro and trial fit them!
here we goes!
8.5"
10"
the whole set

Got hold of my locking wheel nut...had to order one from vw..grr...awaiting spigots and new longer bolts...and 2 new tyres....
but here is a quick trial fit
8.5" front..
10" on the front...NOT HAPPENING!! :lol
10" rears...need a little stretch..not much mind!
check out the size diff stock to aftermarket
Then had the tyres all sorted out for me rimmage...£160 for two falkens...two pirellis to be put on the back..balanced etc etc etc
spec is:
8.5x18 - 215/35/18 Falken 452
10x18 - 235/40/18 Pirelli Rosso's
heres the 8.5
and the 10
and both
and some pics of them together
Yes i know they need a refurb, but that will get done in the summer..so no comments

finaalllyyyy got them on today. even tho one of the bolts is poooh so one wheel only has 4 atm
here are the amg's fitted, 10" et25 rear and 8.5" et25 front
im over the moon with them..i will get some better pics of the whole car when its cleaned etc
and yes i now it needs lowering ut alas i cant afford nor can i warrant doing that with my stupid uni drive and carparks
maybe the summer...along with a full refurb on the wheels!!
let me know what u think!
there u go steve
i quickly cleaned her up and wen out...twas bloody wet n cold so pics arent great, havent played around with them or anything...battery went on cam just after id setup tripod too
yes i knows its high, but alas nothing can be done atm.
OK after the merc wheels gettin a puncture and me being skint i had to sell them managed to get a good price so im happy)
couldnt bare the passat on the other wheels so i had to get some new ones! obv not as pricey as the merc ones so i could afford my uni bills!! eekk
anyways here they are....gettin rid of the skoda centres ASAP but i got them for a good price oh also they are a weird colour...not chrome like they normally are which normally puts me off them tbh!

i loved the merc wheels, not keen on the new ones though, too many thick spokes IMO, car looks nice though,
just needs LOWERING and colour coding + that scratch on the rear bumper sorted

i did love the merc rims...didnt feel safe tho and i do too much driving to warrant shitting myself over every bump!
40mm should deffo set it off...probs wont colour coded as got some black mirrors to go on and a black roof...yeh rear bumper was a little accident and the door has a dent in the nsr also...(not me that one though!)
few more eplies than i was expecting for the ole gramps wagon!

Looks a tidy car, not keen though I'm afraid, just reminds me of a taxi.
Merc wheels don't suit it imo. Skoda wheels look better.
Lowering will improve the looks to an extent.
