Not many of you's will like this poject, but me and my mates are into Rovers and doing conversions on them, so here goes!

Well after using my mates rover T16 turbo tht he had built for a few weeks last year, I decided to build one myself! Had the donor car and bubble shape rover vi for nearly a year now! so today we decided it was time to get something done!

The donor car is a 1994 rover 220 copue that had a 2ltr turbo fitted from a rover 620ti, but the conversion was never completed so it was ought as a non runner. The first thing we did was get the proper loom for it to get it running. It didnt start the first time due to missing a few earth wires, once these were connected it started! Oil light straight out and run great!

This is a picture on my mates one which was converted to a T16!



So today we got the caron a ramp and got the engine out,



Once it was out,





Not got any pictures of the car its going into, ill get some tomorrow! Got some vacuum pipe on the way for it, looking at a bigger turbo and fmic! Hopefully get the engine all painted up within the next couple of days!

i like rovers, my dads got a 220 sli saloon, how fast are these 0-60?

Tuning a Coupe Turbo would be better imo

coupes dont handle, the 200 series chassis is far better, as is the ZR chassis.

Wheres the fun in doing that Marc? And as dave said the coupes dont handel as good as the 200 bubble!

Anyway, got the engine loom and water pipes off of it tonight ready for a wee quick clean up. Also got a timing belt and tensioner to do while its out!

Excellent I used to have a mk3 rover 214si and a mate had a mk2 220 gti which had a turbo conversion and mk3 dash, went like stink!

iv had a 220 vi for the last week, great lil car it was a 5dr though

Well tonight I got a big intercooler for the car! Do you recon this will do the job??







I also did the timing belt and tensioner on the engine

Got a dv for it today



Just need to get a set of coolenrt hoses and then I can fit the engine! Still on the lookout for a turbo tho

i got big respect for sleepers like this

there was aa 320bhp vi on ph a few weeks back

These engines are cast blocks, not the alloy ones like the k series

Ive had 3 k series engine'd cars and not once had a problem, its all to do with mantanince with then

She will be a sleeper once done tho Hopefully running between 220-240bhp
