I don't.
BTCC was worth watching in 1987, 1988 and 1989. Not since.

Forgot that there was still some nice cars and racing as late as 1990 and '91 after they killed off the big guns.

1993. Lovely looking cars, sort of rhubarb and custard colour scheme. Sounded nice too. FWD again though.

Good engines, Miller Cycle supercharged V6s.

Yeah, good question.
It's something to do with the inlet valve still being slightly open when the mixture is compressed, meaning it's more efficient and cleaner, the supercharger force more air in during the compression stroke, meaning it makes more power.
I think
Obviously the BTCC ones would have had a normal engine, no supercharger.

quite complicated

Less power, less grip, less overtaking, less contact, less fun

Really, I think the lack of manufacturers is the key to it's downfall. It was good when you'd got 9 or 10 teams of 2 (and sometimes 3), but now it's SEAT vs Vauxhall, and that's your lot.
All it needs is more cars, with more power, it'd be far far better then.

less contact and overtaking is the main is it not, cause 1998 to 1992 looks loads slower yet 1998 was exciting to watch

1997 and 1998 were pretty good, I remember from ITV daytimes on the weekend.
I haven't seen BTCC on tv or years since, although I went to Brand's last year to watch it for real

A field full of awfull cars making approximately half the horsepower and sending it to the wrong wheels in the majority of cases, plus no more Murray Walker.
Australian touring car racing is more like things should be.

Ist whats happening with F1 atm. Costs were spireling out of control so the put a cap on it and gave every team generic parts to make it make even (gearboxs, tyres etc)
Teams either dropped out because they couldnt afford it or didnt like the new rules
