Posted this before ages ago but its long gone so thought i would do an update!

Started life as a completely standard MG Midget 1500.. didnt take any before pics but was pretty much the same as this one

the 1500 was the last of the midgets to be made and thanks to the american market (emissions and safety :rolleyes was an ugly thing compared to the previous models!

Anywho when i started the plan was just to sort out some of the bodywork.. little bits of rust here and there and to refresh the paint a little..

in the traditional fashion while researching parts etc i found a club splitter.. having never seen one before (but had always liked the look of the MGB GT splitter!) so i bought it and got it fitted!

and smoothed...

after that the next thing was to get it painted asap so i could get it back on the road and start to enjoy it! had bought a cheap compressor earlier in the week and had been to get some fresh paint mixed and set about painting...

all this time though i couldnt help but think it looked better without the bumpers.. so did some research and it seems you could change wings with and earlier model or something... anyway that was too much trouble and money so instead i bought some old mini indicators and a sprite grill, did some welding and came up with this

*note* whoever said you couldnt get a good finish with time and effort and a small / cheap compressor on your drive hasnt tried properly!

At this point was a lot happier with the front end and how it looked, at this point i also added some superlite style alloys.

in the mean time i had been looking for inspiration from race / kit cars and quite liked the look of the Sebring MGB cant find a pic at the moment but it did look awesome!

anyway managed to find the sebring rear valance on the MG Owners Club and thought id get it and see what i could do.. had also done some research looking for some wide arches and it turns out that escort mexico fit reasonably well so got some of them too.. anyway ill let the pics talk...

sebring rear was about 4 inches too wide, so cut down and bonded on

and the cardinal sin of corsasport.. home brew body work! well rear arches were almost made to measure but the front needed some cutting...

few weeks later got some more time to play so got the rest of the arch on and started to smooth.. needs a little bit more time

and the rear as she sits! with my ashley fastback hardtop which i managed to swap for an old roof i had, changes the shape of the back now alot more like the B.

Can also see the exhaust i shaped and welded up with an old MG silencer i had.. roars quite a bit tbh but imo sounds nice and i think a car like this deserves to turn heads a little bit..

anyway thats how she stands at the moment.. probably missed something and dont really know if anyone will be interested but there ya go!
