Hoping someone can help, my w880i crashes on me when doing various tasks on the phone.
The main one is searching for someones name e.g. I press down and it starts at A, now if I scroll down it'll eventually turn off by about C and sometimes if I just hit 7 to get to P for example it will also go off
Sending text messages, it seems to have a nack of turning off once I press sent text or sometimes halfway through the text being sent?
I'm pretty stumped, have used the update function and it's fully up to date.
I'm with o2, online contract 18 months, have quite a while left and no insurance on the contract.
What can I do? Take it into an o2 shop and explain? Is it a known problem, I can't seem to find any information? Any other fixes .etc

ok i have this phone and it did the same thing
i think its a design fault with the battery personally as if you shake the phone gently you can feel it moving
the reason i think this is because after i stuck a blob of blue tack under the battery cover to stop it moving it hasnt done it since!!!
Try it

Upto you, O2 will send to an agent to repair it on Sony's behalf or you could send it direct to Sony as Jambo says.

Just found a mate with the same phone, his does the same thing as well when scrolling through names
Thing is, it almost reboots, it turns off screen goes blank .etc then restarts and doesn't prompt for pin so I don't think its the battery Kerry (i also tried and it didnt work)
Will wait for Sony to reply to my email.

Ive had alot of w880i phones back with similar problems, mainly slow software (2-3sec delay with button presses) and switching off/and or rebooting
