Well on our works van when it got hit, we didnt want to claim anything, so we tied a towrope round the gate post, put the other end around the metal (after removing the bumper) and drive forward whilst someone watches it doesnt pull the metal too far. But if your clutch is a bit crap it'll smoke like a goodun
In the trade, they use jigs, a big pulling arm, but its very costly to have them do it.

Infact a slide hammer may even do it, you dont have to be a pro to fill and spray in the holes you make as the bumper will cover it anyway

whats a slide hammer mate?

I was thinking of putting a couple of heavy duty screws in and trying to pull it out

The attchments go onto the panel / part your wanting to pul out (up to you which one you use), then you slide the hammer backwards, like a hammer in reverse. A good piece of kit to have around, ive used mine on allsorts, stuck wheel hubs etc

a would use a port a power to push it back out or a bottle jack would do the same thing

Just hammer it out, i work at a repair garage, thats what we do, hammer it out with a lump hammer, then either replace the panel or repair it.
