EBC/black diamond disks are popular and also get vauxhall pads as the performance pads r not worth the money

astra set up is very similar to 1.6 sport anyway so IO wouldn't bother. just get some drilled and grooved disks with decent pads.
E.g Black diamond combi disks with mintesx fastroad pads.

if u get astra disks then they are the same diameter (256mm) but are wider (1.6 sport is 20mm, astra 24mm), astras come with better calipers anyway

I would stick with GTE discs and calipers.Much cheaper and good enough to stop you on your nose.

It would be cheaper to buy astra GTE callipers and VAUXHALL pads n discs then it would to buy these black diamond discs. The astra GTE callipers will give for better breaking.

no point going for grooved, as you have no real need for grooved disc's and they will just eat brake pads like they are going out of fashion.
a set of cross-drilled is what you want to help disapate the heat but not eat your pads

If you like, but dont use GM pads, they were designed for GM discs and will eat away quickly.

if you drive a 1.6 sport then you already have 256 x 20mm brake setup, astra gte is 256 x 24mm
so never worry about the gte calipers. just get a decent set of disc's and pads
mintex 1144's or pagid fast road pads are what you want

i got a 1.4 sport and brought tarox disc, drilled and grooved with EBC green stuff brakes...................waste of money IMO, only good thing was the pads don't have brake dust.
