Was driving along, spanner light was on (always is but never had a problem, always ran ok) changed up into fifth and all of a sudden revs dropped and car starts to judder, emission light then flashes and comes on
Pulls over and car ticks over fine, emmis light goes out, try to rev the engine and it starts bouncing on 2000rpm (trying to die) and emission light comes on/flashes etc
Managed to crawl home, luckily was just round corner, but if I put foot down, it started to judder and die
juddered to a halt coming up the drive way (it steep so couldnt get enough revs up to get up it) and now it wont start
Keeps turning over and every now and then tries to fire but wont go, left half hour and it started first time, spanner light stays on but no emmission light, rev up ok if i press peddle down slowly, however if I press peddle down fast, it wont rev up, the revs jump up an down around 2000rpm and emission light comes on. light goes off again when just left to tick over
any ideas??

yh i had the same problem wit my sport .try the plugs c if the black n give em a good clean c if thet helps mate. if thea dont work try new leads.

plugs were cleaned 2 weeks ago when i serviced it, doesnt have leads mate.

blocked fuel filter?? ( wouldnt be the knock sensor or it wouldnt start )

Sounds like it could be crank sensor. Get someone to check the fault code with a scanner.

if its any help I had a problem the other week where it wouldnt start, when I turned on ignition there was a fast clicking coming for the throttle body, and also from a relay in the fuse box, at the same time as the clicking the spanner light and EML was flashing in time with the clicks (as if there was a bad connection) battery went flat pretty much straight away trying to start it, so I charged it up and when I put the battery on the next day it was fine so I just put it down to the battery beeing low on juice from standng for ages and not getting used and getting started and stopped. Car has only been driven once for around ten mins before this incident tonight
