got my hands on a red gsi the other day for £300. its in really good nick and has been tuned by autotronics, goes well.
its got an x16xe bottom end and a c16xe head, unsure on this so was just wondering if anyone would no why this was done.
its a 93 gsi.

is there any difference in the x16 and c16 bottom ends?

nothing you would notice power wise its just a newer block

it makes one hell of a noise and revs really quickly, cant see any thing that looks different to my grey one, only noticed the x16xe stamp on the block.
its got the wrong exhaust system onit aswell, (back box isnt the proper size)

the x16 and c16 heads are different (better inlet) so the bottem end has prob gone and they've opted to stay with the c16xe head.

my old c16xe used to revs lots quicker than my m8s x16xe its lots to do with the head n becuse they change the emissions for the x

my grey gsi is a c16xe aswell but doesnt rev as smooth as my red one, would fast road cams make the throttle responce better?

as i have 2 gsi's now both are c16xe's and the red one that has been tuned by autotronics pulls alot better than my grey one and its got standard exhaust cat and manifold and airbox.

Sell the grey one and use the Red one
