the way monster has worded it it doesnt make sense.
when its written like this; "Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is."
u can see the answer easily due to the first part of the sentane being pretty irrelevant

7. There are three words in the English language that end in "-gry." One is "angry" and the other is "hungry." Everyone knows what the third one means and what it stands for. Everyone uses them every day. And if you listened carefully I've given you the third word, what is it?
The answer is three.
It is the third word in the question, and the rest of the question is irrelevant: a red herring designed to put the solver off.
So the answer is three.
The question is 'I've given you the 3rd word, what is it'
the 3rd word in the text is the word 'three'...

There's actually a fair few including 'gry' itself . It's an old trick question that's lost its meaning through being paraphrased through time.
