Got a spare rocker cover to tidy up and fit to my car but I am not sure what colour scheme to go for. Its in a smoke grey corsa and this is what the bay looks like atm (a mess )

Thinking either black with red or yellow filler cap

gun metal grey with red or yellow cap

Polished with red or yelllow cap

Or other suggestions

Also anyone know if halfords sell high temp spray paint and what the best way to prep the metal is?

my mate put his in a bag with paint stripper for a few hours then jet washed it off and then used a scouring pad just to flat it back. then hibuild primered it and then paint and laquer of your choice. just do several slow coats with each and will looks loads better

Im refering to the metal rocker cover not the plastic cover that goes over them, that went in the bin a long time ago

the cover that says ecotec is plastic, so u can use regular paint for that, otherwise high temp paint for the metal cam cover. personally, i would say get the dremel out, and polish it

hmm, how does the powder coating process work? As I need to specify to them that I only want the top painting and not the underside and where it mounts onto the gasket etc would a run of the mill powder coaters be able to do this? As there is one 5 mins down the road from me

Brought some high temp paint and started on it today. However the colour looks nothing like its suposed to, more like primer

Will use it as a base layer and then get some more paint. Is hamerite spray paint able to with stand the heat enough? as that comes in a few different shades.

How it looks atm

That is what I am hoping not holding out much faith though as it was touch dry when I took the pics

If not I will go for good old fashioned black.
Anyone know if hammerite will be able to take the heat?
