Just taken out equipment and personal liability and accident insurance so I can get media access at the Rallycross at Lydden Hill on Monday. Never done any proper automotive photography before really but looking forward to it

Nice one dude, could you recommend some places for insurance as I really want to get my SLR insured. Its alot of moneys worth of equipment to take out and about without insurance really

iv insured my with my house insurance, didnt cost me any extra.

Im with photoguard, costing me £35 a year with £600 worth of equipment, and up to 10k personal accident cover.

Aye thats quite cheap, i need public liabilty insurance to shoot at football and motorsport events (well any events that involve the general public)
Think thats £150 a year for up to 100k worth of accident cover, that doesnt cover your camera though i have insurance for that for £3k of equipment

I cover rallying and ive never needed to get public liabilty insurance to do it!

you should because you need to be covered to stand 'for example by the grid' etc to take pics...so you are covered of any accidents/damage! the venue wil not be covered for this !

Rallying is more public space though...

id suggest getting there early and go find her and she'll sort it out i guess.... we ususal yegt there really early get good spot and watch the pratice laps.
meant to be a good number of supercars' there monday aswell!
