normal idle should be about 800 ish, atm it idles around 1300 sometimes as high as 1800 in real cold days.

had it down to my mates today, he had it on the computer checked all the readings and says all the sensors seem fine,

any ideas what it could be, had a look for air leaks, tried listening for air leaks cant see or hear anything

any sugestions??

also dunno if its related, think its running really rich on fuel??

only thing i've thought of so far was lamda sensor but my mate rekons its ok???

haha lol, new bumper is on the way

. the engine is a X14XE. i'll try another airflow meter see if that helps. apart from that does it mean taking the upper inlet apart and having a look around???

Maybe try a squirt of carb cleaner into your air intake to see if it cleans anything? Iv got all the inlets and throttle body for a 1.4 16v if u ever need anything

x14xe doesnt have an air flow meter.most likely an air leak from the hose between the inlet and t/body

how much fiddly hoses are there when i dissmantle the upper inlet, i dunno but i think it may be the pipe that goes onto the throtle body, i'll have a look and see what i can find

it isnt that hard to get the top inlet off mate but i remember its a bitch to get the short piping to seat properly and keep it there whilst you release the clip.trial and error tbh

EDIT i think there are 2 breather hoses and unbolt the fuel vent valve thingy from the side.
