Just for this game I take it.

It'll just be another reason for me to dislike international footy tbh

Yeah, seems he's gonna change it each friendly before announcing the permanent captain before the 2010 qualifiers

Who else is likely to get it during this rotation policy?

In total, i'd guess at

Rio
JT
Stevie G
Rooney
Lampard maybe
James?
Beckham?

I cant see him giving it Rooney. And I cant see him giving it any of the keepers as too unpredictable as to who will be the no.1.

So would say Terry, Gerrard and Rio, and possibly Lampard.

Would of liked Beckham to be captain for this game, if he started the game any way.

Yeh yours probs right wi the keepers, although if he does get set with any atm is likely to be James. Plus his experience etc

He's been the most consistent defender for England in recent years, world cups etc, i think he deserves his chance at it

The captain should be either Rio or Gerrard, slight preference for Gerrard as he is in the middle of the pitch so a better position for the captain imo

Beckham will just want to concentrate on playing I think.

Rio or Gerrard would be a good choice. I'd be happy with either of them.

He's doing the right thing imo, takes time to see which players are the natural leaders in a squad and it's something in British football that takes on special significance for some reason.
