hi,
just thought id sign up and see if anyone had any good ideas before i take my girlfriends 1999 1.2 corsa b to the dealer to figure out.
basically at speed (mostly on the motorway) the engine management light will come on and of course it cuts the power but then after accelerating more/less it will go away. its completly random, some days it doesnt do it and others a few times in one journey.
she took it to some back end garage who did the ecu test and said it was because she put 'bad' fuel in it from the local texaco garage and sent her on her way which of course doesnt help at all.
did the basics like intake and injector cleaner, replace the spark plugs, bang the air filter out but no joy so at the moment i may just have to take it to the main dealer but im loathed to pay £90 just for an ecu test then labour on top
thanks
dan

i looked at it on this page http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm
but wondered if it would work as it mentions that cars in the region of 2000 (hers being 1999) cant be read using the paper clip plus it only listed a 1.2 up to 1997 on the table.

The 1.2 8v has same ecu style as the 1.4/1.6's.
