Right i may be doing more than 2 Sessions at the Castle Combe track day howevere as my car is still worth a considerable sum (to me0 i think I may need some track cover.
Anyone know any decent companies and what sort of projected costs I am likely to incurr for session based track time?
As weekend Racers grow I am sure that a system will be placed to cover its memebers for a certain cost etc.

I know greenlight offer it, but generally your only covered 3rd party on track... wouldn't be looking to pay more than £100...

yeh as norledge says, there's no way you can insure your car in such a way, as to cover the cost of your car if you smash it up.
You can only get insurance to cover you causing an accident to someone else.
thats as far as i know anyway.

So just hope the guy you hit has gone for insurance
Anyway you should be fine as long as you don't push yourself (you cars limits will far outdo your own), and avoid the chunts that always turn up on afternoon sessions

yeah greenlight do it as an additional fee on top of your existing premium (its what I have at the moment)
I have heard rumours that they're a bit iffy covering action days like Combe though, as the risk is much much higher than a typical session or open pit day with a set number of cars

its not that bad really, I've been to Combe 4 or 5 times now and never seen a major smash. Few little prangs, but never anything that wasn't caused by someone being stupid. there's plenty of run off round most of the track as well

thing is, I always find you drive sensible yourself, but also watch out for others.
I personally know I won't crash unless I have mechanical failure...
However, i know someone else 'may' crash into me...
So if I see someone slower infront, I bare it in mind when i'm behind them that they may spin, or that they may not see me as I go to pass etc.
And if I see a car much faster in my mirror, I indicate and let it past.
If you do both of them, I can't see there'll be a problem either way.

^^ what he said, just constantly check your mirrors and assume everyone else on the track is an idiot.
