no microsoft are fixing any console that gets the red rings, they arent expecting you to buy a new console everytime.
also the elites seem to be ok

My mates brand new Elite got the Red Rings after 30 days!
they have different coolers in them, not saying it doesnt happen, but not many seem to be going wrong

Actually, the insides of an Elite are exactly the same as all the other 360's and they do get the red rings as often as all other models.

Now, i feel sorry when this happens.
Its proper shit to own a console that decides to fuck up out of the blue.
Seems like xbox like to spend money on "extra content" rather than a console that actually works. So they make more money. Rather than being dedicated to there owners and releasing a small section of the game to keep us happy
