Basically, later this month my rep has arranged to do a demo to show how his products work.

The car in question will be my 11 year old 120,000 mile tallblock 2.0 8v ibiza.

The test will invlove a compression test, and an emissions test. Then a FORTE flush will be run in, then an oil and filter change. Then a petrol treatment will be added, then a road test.

The car will then have another compression test and emissions test.

Should be interesting

we had the same offered from our forte dealer, didnt bother taking him up on it.

will be interesting to see though. should have an improvement on the emmissions, cant see big gains in the compression test though.

You are introducing 3 extra variables at the same time as the forte so that will prove a big fat 0.

Yea I agree with John here Ed, to be fair with the test it should also have an oil and filter change before the Forte is added, then the first compression test run, then the Forte added, a few hundred miles done, another oil and filter change, then the second test.

Yes, i did rip apart the reps methods and explained that the nice warm road tested engine will show different figures to the pre-roadtest engine....

but still, thats how they do it. Still keen to see the findings, if any

It's not a demo of how his products work though or even anything to do with the engine being hot or cold, apart from you getting an oil change it is a total waste of time.
