Looking to get to a few track days this year and would like some footage of them to remember them buy.
Ive got a sony mini dv camcorda that would be ideal but how do people attach them to their interiors? Places you can buy mounts from? Or how made contraptions?

I've seen a few people get a plank of wood and mount it in the passenger and drivers headrest, basically the headrests hold it in, hard to explain. Then you mount the camera on that and it should be pretty stable.

i cant see many track's allowing that, as it doesnt seem safe, epecially in a crash...
if you got a cage, clamp it on that with a bracket etc, or you use window sucker cam mount, if it's light

window mounts are the best, as most tracks will check them before allowing them

Yer the plank of wood one sounds a bit dodgy. Any idea where to get the window suckers from? Ones with the little brass screw like on trip pods would be ideal.

Why's it unsafe? 
I wouldn't really want a mount on my window, seeing as I need full concentration and view I don't want a camera in the way

you cant have a lump of wood in the car you just wont be allowed
those mounts are fine in the bottom corner of the screen, or rear window

It's not just a random lump of wood though
It'd be fixed in (if you did it properly) but mounting it on a cage (if you have one) would be better

theres all diffrent ways that you can do it,
but if you have it make sure its sercure as this will get checked at most if not all tracks

lump of wood in car..... No Danger! That wouldnt get near the track
DT ones are expensive...
I got mine from B Hague. Very reasonably priced, sturdy design, not bad on vigration etc.

You reckon? I was basing it on the fact that it doesnt have the clamping thing on the suckion cup. Might go for no2 then as I could then stick it on the windscreen if I want aswell

I had a suction cup mount (still have it and never use it) - if it got too warm / wet it'd fall off, couldn't trust it etc, especially when hammering on track.
I use a super clamp, with extension bar. solid - i could hang off it once it's on.

Yer would go for a clamp but I am thinking of changing cars in the near future and the one I am thinking of getting doesnt have anywhere to clamp it. i.e headrests so think one of these would be more versitile
