i have had a new cat fitted and now its blowing at the join to the middle box cos i had to hit it with a hammer and chissel to break the old cat away now theres a slight gap just enough for it to blow. what is the best stuff to use for joining pipes together?

not paste. already used that. i thought gum gum.
